Val’s house was completely destroyed during the 2017 Knysna fires. During our first site visit we walked on a thick layer of rubble that was once her house, trying to picture what it was like before. It was the first time she had seen it post fire and the meeting was very emotional.

But with Val’s will of steel and the excellent guidance of Lew, we literally raised a new house from the ashes. It was 80% of the original design but while we had the opportunity, we made some key design improvements. The result is a modern airy house with the most incredible view over the Knysna lagoon.
