This characterful cottage in the heart of Sedgefield Village served the community under various guises over the years, not only as a home, but also as welcoming pre-schoolers under the boughs of its old pepper trees.

It was in sore need of some TLC by the time it came on the market in early 2019. However, despite the state of disrepair, its innate charm shone through and inspired its new owner to repair the ravages of time. Under the careful guidance of our late, great Henry Greyling, the cottage was painstakingly brought back to life.

With the aim to restore, rather than renovate, there was minimal disturbance to the original layout and as much of the original character of the building was preserved as possible, including the wonderful wooden floors and original windows.

The few alterations that were effected, were done in keeping with the history of the building and in a way that would not only allow the house to tell its own story, but help it embark on a new chapter in its history.

We are proud to have helped this little gem find its sparkle again and to see it returned to its rightful place in the Sedgefield community.
