Charlene dreamt about living in this house she’d seen from Santos Beach since she was a child. When it became available, she bought it immediately.

Together, we planned a revamp of the existing space to create a new master bathroom and open kitchen and living space.

A third bedroom was added for visiting parents in the available space next to the front door, with a quirky “bridge” over the existing stairs to the garage below.

The main purpose of the redesign was to create an outside space to capture the views over the Mossel Bay coast. We opened up the sunroom and TV room and added a sundeck which can be used day or night.

We kept the mid-century feel of the house with the lazy slope of the roof, stone-clad fireplace chimney and blackwood floors.
It turned out great – the perfect spot to watch the whales, boats and beach while sipping red wine.
